A happy mind in a happy body is the first requisite of a healthcare professional. Since happiness is self-generated, it should be a primary concern of each of us to be elated and excited about what we undertake to do as physicians and enjoy every moment of our activity. Happiness is infectious and a happy mind is like a glowing light, which spreads brightness all around dispelling the darkness and hopelessness of misery. We may be attempting to understand complex metabolic processes yet we need to keep our relationships with fellow humans particularly patients, very simple and lucid based on realism, genuine sympathy and honest assurances. We need to equip ourselves with good knowledge of disease and treatment to be confident at whatever we do. Commercialism is often confused with professionalism in clinical practice and greed pollutes our mindset. If we view our status as a physician, a benediction of the almighty, we will be elated to ameliorate the suffering of a fellow human. To stay happy simplicity has to be the core element of our existence. it is so simple to be happy, but so difficult to be simple
