What we experienced during setting of ideal or patient’s complete denture teeth, that there was crisis of space for placing the last tooth, i.e. mandibular first premolar. Then we had to rearrange the whole of the maxillary and the mandibular posterior teeth, which is too much of a problem and time-consuming exercise. What is the solution then?
Simple solution, after the anteriors are set, measure the mesiodistal dimension of two mandibular premolars, mark the distance on mandibular occlusal rims behind the canines. Leaving this space, place tentatively mandibular first molar on one side of the arch. Then fix maxillary first molar in proper ideal intercuspation with mandibular first molar. Now, place second and then first maxillary prelmolar and then second molar as per ideal orientation in maxillary arch. Now you can easily palce mandibular posterior teeth one by one, and surprisingly you will see there is enough space for mandibular first premolar. Don’t you see the problem is over forever?
