Dental practices produce considerable amounts of biomedical waste which needs to be given equal importance in management. If not managed properly, they can pose potential health hazards to dental professionals, dental auxiliaries as well as patients and can even pollute the environment. Both, quantity and type of waste generated in dental clinics are important. We should ardently follow the color-coded waste segregation system while at our disposal. Thus as a dentist, it's our social responsibility to ensure safe and effective management of biomedical waste for the obvious protection against diseases which has now become relevant more than ever considering the current pandemic scenario.
