Facial rejuvenation includes a vast array of invasive as well as non-invasive procedures which are successfully carried out in the department by the highly qualified staff. Post-graduate students are trained to perform these procedures skillfully through a training programme conducted in the department every year. (Introduction)
Aesthetic procedures using absorbable PDO threads are an interesting alternative for face lift. Different types of threads and techniques can be used depending on the patient’s needs. Microneedling for acne scars and Lobuloplasty for split or torn ear lobe are the newest technique being carried out in the department. The great advantages of these techniques are lesser complications and lesser hospital stay. Proper training and knowledge of different thread lifting techniques as well as adequate patient selection are crucial to be able to obtain good cosmetic results.
For the benefit of our post-graduate students, facial rejuvenation and hair transplant clinic was established in December 2017. Hair regeneration using PRP and Hair Transplant are also successfully performed in our specialised clinic by our trained clinicians with promising results. A workshop on facial rejuvenation and hair transplant was conducted in the department for the training of our post graduates and teaching staff in 2018.
Since then more than 80 patients have benefitted through the procedures carried out in these clinics. This clinical data has culminated into successful P.G research work.
