Introduction and Education
Dr. Gautam Palit is a eminent Neuropharmacologist and did his post graduation (MD, Pharmacology) from King George’s Medical University, Lucknow in 1976 and held the position of Head, Division of Pharmacology & Senior Deputy Director (Chief Scientist) in CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow. He was intimately associated with Undergraduate and Post-Graduate (Medical and Dental Wing) teaching programme for 25 years during his stay in the department of pharmacology, King George’s Medical University, Lucknow. He has received advance training in the area of Neuropharmacology, Gastric Pharmacology, Stress Research and R&D in Drug Discovery and Development. He is highly experienced and prolific researcher and is actively pursuing various projects. Hold Membership and Fellowship of various learned National societies. He has been the recipient of several awards and honors namely UVNAS Award and Gold Medal (1977, 1998 & 2014), Dr. S.B. Pandey Award by Indian Pharmacological Society, Dr. D.N. Prasad Memorial Oration and Gold Medal by Indian Council Medical Research (ICMR), CDRI Annual Day Award for Excellent Research Work (2008, 2010 and 2012), Triveni Devi Ram Sahai Award by Indian Medical Association, etc. He has more than 120 research publications in highly reputed National and International journals. Delivered prestigious lecture in National and International Conference/ University/Medical Colleges and Scientific Institute. He is also members of different National Technical Committees.
