A 17 year old male patient reported to the Department of Orthodontics, Saraswati Dental College with a chief complaint of irregularly positioned teeth in the upper front region of the jaw. The patient was also concerned about his lower jaw which was positioned backwards according to him. The patient had no pre-natal, natal or post natal history and had a endomorphic body built with aesthetic body type. On clinical examination of the patient, it was found out that the patient had a Class II Division 2 malocclusion and on examination of the diagnostic aids (Study model , Radiographs(Lateral cephalograms, OPG), it was found out that the patient had mandibular deficiency. Assessing the growing stage of the patient, fixed functional treatment was planned along with molar correction and correction of crowding. After treatment period of 6-7 months, the mandibular deficiency was corrected and molar relation was also obtained as Class I. A retention period of 3 months was given to the patient in order to prevent relapse. The patient was quite happy with the treatment outcome.
